Welcome to our Friday Night Sandlot Games for boys and girls ages 7–15!

The goal is simple: get kids outside, playing ball, making friends, and having fun. Whether your child is an experienced player or picking up a glove for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Location & Time

📍 Cox Mill Elementary School Fields

1300 Cox Mill Road
Concord, NC 28027

Games begin at 6:00pm every Friday night and typically run until 8:00–8:30pm.

We will start on Field 2. If attendance is high, we may split into two or even three fields based on age and skill level.

Please arrive a few minutes early so we can organize teams and get started on time.

Cost & Registration

There is no registration required and no cost to participate.

These games are open to everyone and are not limited to Odell Rec players or families.

How It Works

These are informal pickup games focused on:

• Having fun
• Getting more reps
• Learning the game
• Building confidence
• Making new friends

Teams will be formed each week based on attendance, age, and skill level. We do our best to create balanced games and make sure everyone gets plenty of opportunities to play.

While we primarily use baseballs, both baseball and softball players are welcome.

Scores and standings are not kept. The emphasis is on participation, instruction, sportsmanship, and enjoying the game.

Safety

Player safety is always important.

Participants should bring:

• Baseball/softball glove
• Batting helmet
• Water bottle
• Appropriate athletic shoes

Adult volunteers will be present to help supervise games and assist players as needed.

Parents & Volunteers

Parents are encouraged to stay, watch, and enjoy the games.

If you would like to help coach, pitch, keep players organized, or simply lend a hand, we would love the extra help.

Concessions

The concession stand is usually open for drinks and snacks. Players should also bring their own water bottles to stay hydrated.

Come Play Ball!

The Friday Night Sandlot Games are all about kids getting together and enjoying the game in a relaxed, positive environment.

No pressure. No standings. No trophies.

Just baseball, softball, friends, and fun on a Friday night.

We hope to see you at the field!
