About the Camp

Get ready for a week of fun, fundamentals, and focused instruction at the Odell Rec Summer Softball Camp! This 3-day camp is perfect for players of all skill levels who want to sharpen their game in a positive and energetic environment.

Led by an experienced coach with over 15 years of high school and travel ball coaching, along with current and former Division 1 college and travel ball players, our camp provides hands-on, drill-based training to help players improve their skills and confidence on the field.

What to Expect

Each day features a structured, timed schedule focused on both offensive and defensive fundamentals. Campers will receive personalized instruction in the following key areas:

 Defense

• Infield Training: Footwork, glove positioning, proper throwing mechanics, and situational defense.
• Outfield Skills: Tracking the ball, drop steps, catching mechanics, and efficient throws.
• Throwing Drills: Build strength, accuracy, and safe technique.
• Catcher Instruction: Receiving, blocking, throwing to bases, and leadership behind the plate.

Offense

• Hitting Mechanics: Improve swing path, timing, and power with targeted drills.
• Bunting Skills: Learn the correct grip, stance, and strategy for both sacrifice and base-hit bunts.
• Base Running: Techniques for stealing, leading off, rounding bases, and sliding safely.

Daily Format

Campers will rotate through skill stations to maximize reps and learning. Each session includes competitive drills and team-building games to reinforce fundamentals in a fun, energetic way.

What to Bring

• Softball glove
• Bat and helmet (if available)
• Facemask
• Cleats (recommended) or athletic shoes
• Labeled water bottle
• Optional snack

Important Notes

• Please arrive by 10 Minutes prior to start time for check-in and warm-up.
• Camp runs rain or shine — alternate plans will be in place for inclement weather.
